YumTable Online Reservations Make Savings with Online Restaurant Bookings

[17/01/12]

YumTable has arrived in Hong Kong, a last minute online table reservation service offering savings of up to 50%. We’re big eaters in Hong Kong – exemplified by the lack of kitchen space in the city – and this new website will further condemn home cooking. Kitchen appliance producers in HK must be livid - having an oven here is nearly as rare as having central heating. Although having an oven is double the fun because you can also use it for central heating at this time of year.

YumTable offers discounts with most of its reservations, and sends an SMS to the customer as well as the restaurant to confirm the booking. The restaurant in question should be aware of your special offer but it doesn’t harm to remind them when you arrive. Well known restaurants include Café Deco and Marouche so it’s worth telling the boys if their ladies have cottoned on to dating on 2-4-1 Mondays.

The success of YumTable will ultimately depend on the discounts they can deliver rather than the restaurants in their portfolio and at the moment the discounts only average 10-15%. That said we found a 5-course meal with all you can drink wine for HK$238 so there are some deals worth sniffing out, albeit with a wine that probably doesn't warrant much sniffing.

Yum yum.
