It’s only HK$350 per head and that includes: Thick Soup of Five Different Snakes, Stir Fried Snake With Chicken, Stir Fried Snake or Salt & Pepper Trunk Snake, Seasonal Vegetables With Snake Sauce, Stewed Berry Snake, Stewed Tortoise, Special Chopped Chicken, Slow Stewed Thick Soup with “8 Pairs of Lizards" (actually 5 snakes with 8 lizards) and... Sticky Rice. It’s a lot of snake but you don’t find that at Crystal Jade.
It’s taking place at the “Shia Wong Hip” Snake Restaurant - which even has its own website – and there’ll be lashings of snake wine, beer and soft drinks served on each table. It’s also BYOB (and BYO wine glasses) so you’ll probably get beyond Dutch Courage and reach Dutch Drunk. If you don’t think there’s enough on the agenda that would scare Spartacus, you can also have a shot of snake bile at the end which will be less like a digestif and more like a vomitif.
