FishEyes Underwater Camera See your Prey Underwater

[29/12/11]

We know it’s not wise to go near most of the water in Hong Kong, let alone go fishing in it, but we’ve found a gadget that will render your concerns redundant – FishEyes. It’s an underwater camera that lets you see underwater, and as any connoisseur of shark films will tell you, knowing what lies beneath is the key to conquering your fears. Combined with a harpoon gun and copious amounts of TNT of course.

FishEyes is essentially an underwater camera with a light and an LCD screen that you attach you to your fishing rod. It only costs US$59 which suggests something fishy’s going on but it’s a risk worth taking. You’ll have a critical advantage over other anglers, manoeuvring your line into the perfect spot to catch ‘Tuba’, or whatever else fisherman call the local big boy of the deep. (There’s always one).

On the website they also say you can use it to ‘Spy On Your Friends at the Pool’ which might be vaguely acceptable if it wasn’t accompanied by a picture of an eight year old boy. Nonetheless, if you’ve ever fished wearing goggles you’ll know the pleasure of being able to see your targets nibbling at your hook. It also comes with a shade cover so you can see the screen in bright sunlight, a depth control system and a 25 foot line so grab your wellies and head to Sai Kung.

Fishing voyeur.
