Mira Goes Botanical
Hong Kong’s newest garden bar opens in TST
When we think ‘garden party’, we think skinny Englishmen in blazers and straw boaters, with bushy moustaches and custard-thick accents, bunting on the river, a tall glass of Pimms with cucumber and raspberries in hand. It’s all lovely and refined, but a bit Xerox-paper dull.
Not anymore. Vibes, the new al fresco bar at the Mira Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, spells the beginning of a whole new type of garden party. Complete with DJ booth, massive cabanas and plenty of bamboo, frangipani trees and vertical greenery, Vibes is a cool place to chill out and meet up with friends on the Dark Side (who get so lonely). Try one of the molecular cocktails, including the Port Express (coffee bean-infused port and vanilla vodka with a Galliano and Grand Marnier foam) and Fennel Apple Popcorn (made with Swedish vodka, apple and ginger, infused with CO2 and snap frozen with liquid nitrogen), while tapas include mini Wagyu and foie gras burgers and oyster shots. The spacious garden is punctuated by fire pods that sit atop running water (all very Zen, but safe around larrikins?), which create a very sensual environment for guys and girls.
Leave the boater at home, but bring your bunting stick.
