Finding a truly male domain is becoming increasingly difficult. Sports
bars have ladies night, pool halls have all-girl competitions, even
Hong Kong Gentlemen’s Cub, Central’s bloke epicentre since 1846, has
been infiltrated. While we’re all about equality (it makes the staff
Christmas party less of a sausage fest), men do need a place in which
to lax out and embrace their Y chromosomes.
We all know that in a city like Hong Kong, how you present yourself
physically, from your tie to the shoes, is every bit as important as
all those expensive (if not sexually enlightening) years at university.
