Priced between US$500 – 1,500 (outrageous but understandable), each piece is custom made and is also waterproof so you're allowed a dip in the sea. That said, you have to make sure it’s thoroughly dried before you start using it again otherwise your girlfriend could be looking at some impromptu electro shock therapy.
The idea came to Andrew on his first day at a course at NYU. The new students were brainstorming and Andrew jokingly said he would produce a bikini that chills beers. He soon realized he could do it, or at least part of it, but also discovered that a bikini simply isn’t large enough to hold enough photovoltaic cells to cool beers. For most girls anyway.
A bikini can carry enough cells for low power devices like iPods, but a coolant system requires more power and more cells. With that in mind, however, he is developing a new range of swimwear with enough surface area to chill beers – board shorts. It's expected to be available later this year, turning you into a walking fridge.
Portable power.
